"HEAD FOR THE HILLS" (a post-pandemic song) AUDIO is now a full jazz band arrangement in April, 2021 of a song Loose Bruce Kerr composed in April, 2020. Who knew it would take a year before the vaccines started to help us toward an end to the pandemic?
To celebrate that, here's the full arrangement. The song gives a bow to the earlier pandemic in 1920-21 through its 1920's style song and arrangement. Bruce's parents grew up in the 1920's and his dad taught him songs from that era on ukelele while his mom sang the melodies.
In this song, Loose Bruce Kerr performs his song live on vocals, accompanied by his new jazz band background tracks just completed.
Bruce records his instruments one at a time, multi-tracking (invented by his hometown hero, Les Paul of Waukesha, Wisconsin). Some are real (ukes, etc.), some are synth'd (trombones, tubas, saxes, etc.).
Bruce inserted a 20-year performing and recording career into his day job as an attorney. He's been back practicing law for the last 20 years and continues to record his songs in his garage studio.
Back in the day, he opened for "Weird Al" Yankovic. He's an irregular feature of the Dr. Demento Show where his songs have been played over 100 times through the years.
